He Ruide,

We are camping at the beach this weekend. We can leave as soon as I find the corkscrew. I'll get some pictures for you How are you doing? Have you found another donor? Keep us posted.

You are always in our thoughts, Sue

Folks,

I'm happy to report that I've taken what I hope is my first baby steps to recovery from my Lymphoma. Yes after waiting for five months I finally had my stem cell transplant on Thursday November 13th which has become my new birthday.

I apologize for delaying providing an update, but there have been lots of disappointments and set backs along the way. Thus I decided I would wait until I had some real good news before providing an update. I have been in the hospital for over a week and will have to stay here for another three weeks - even though I'm currently feeling well and am walking five miles a day around the ward. However, I don't have an immune system and so I have to remain in a clean environment where they can monitor me around the clock. After that I'll be released but will still have to stay in Houston for 100 days for daily check ups, transfusions, medications etc.

As always I thank everyone for the words of support and prayers. I'm am hoping that the stem cell transplant will give me a new lease on life. I do ask not only do you pray for me but also give thanks to the unknown donor who gave up her time, went through all sorts of tests, countless IVs and injections and literally gave up part of herself for me.

For those that would like to read more about my journey, I've posted a blog with more details.

Happy B-day Ruide! Glad to hear the great news.

I was thinking of you today hoping for an update as I referenced your winterizing information. I finally broke down and admitted that I won't get out with the campinator as DW insists it is too cold now in MN.

Your smugmug details continue to be helpful. I couldn't help wondering what mods you might be considering for all that hospital paraphenalia

Stay strong, thanks for sharing your experience in your blog. A loud thank you to all donors, and especially your donor. I will be thinking of you during your journey. Again, thank you for leting us know.

Jeff

Thanks for the blog update - I was a little bummed that you hadn't posted on it for awhile, was begining to worry why.

Man, 5 miles - I am doing fine, and probably couldn't do five right now - I gotta get out there and keep up.

Prayers for your new life!

I have a buddy further along in the transplant recovery process. Dern fellow is out riding ATVs, camping, working, etc. Hang in there, you're on the way up now.

Great to hear. I have not been able to check on things on the pup forum for a while and to see this when I came back today was a great thing indeed. Another thing to be thankful for this year.
