Going to Waterton NP next week from Glacier in U.S. Think I need to reserve a site at Townsite? Is Waterton as crowded as Glacier?
We'll arrive midweek so maybe Crandall is an option. Thanks

We never had reservations when we we there back in 1998. I would check their internet site to see what they suggest.

Yes, recommend getting reservations, specially if you want hookups.

We don't need hookups and would prefer the more isolated campgrounds. Do the no reservation sites fill up mid-week? we will arrive on Thursday for a couple of days stay.

Yes they do fill up quick, My bro was there last week , and he mentioned that they could not get in that same day , so they showed up the next day before noon and they did get a spot at Crandel, Crandel is a much nicer CC then the town site.

I made reservations back in April, for 3 weeks ago and could only get unserviced for our size MH. Had a great time except came face to face with a black bear on the walk way around the cmpg, Never walked backwards so fast in my life.lol

Crandell site is non serviced CG. Operated on a first come first served basis. We just got back from Waterton yesterday. Great place to camp. It fills up fast so be there before lunch. You might also want to consider Waterton Springs CG. This used to be the old KOA. Its under new management and the folks there do try real hard to accommodate you. Its only about a 10 min drive from the park gates. Has lots of room for big units and offers full service sites.
