I have this unfortunate case of OCD or something, but i cannot have rattles or other noises when i got down the road. Drives me nuts and makes the trip less enjoyable for me...and i love to drive.

I have most all of the noises taken are of. Minus the kids and wife, but i've learnd to ignore them

One thing i haven't been able to solve is the fan vent above the oven. It rattles going down the road and i'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with that and what thye have done if anything to quite it?

Is it closed? The lttle tabs on the outside? Or you can stuff a towel in the hole. Might work out ok.

Try the vent "open." Move the little tabs down so the vent can move.

I have the same noise and it really irritates me.

When I can remember to "unlock" the vent before I drive, it is quieter. My theory is that allows the vent door to move as the air pressure changes without being restricted by the closed tabs and therefore banging against the vent and rattling.

When the tabs are closed, the vent door (cover) still has some "play" (movement) in it and that is what causes the noise when it wiggles.

What type of vent do you have. Here is a link to Ventline vents.
Our MH has model V2111. There are 2 little that are use to hold flapper closed when driving down the road. If I forget to closeit. It makes a terrible noise.

A couple of folks already gave the solution, but just in case it didn't make sense, here is a more complete explanation:

1. Is is vented to the outside?

2. Is so, the exhaust outside has a flap over it that allows the steam (etc.) to escape but keeps the rain out. That flap will flop open and closed when driving, making a noise.

3. The flap has a small tab(s) that is designed to keep the flap closed in transit. Use the tab to keep the flap closed. That should do it.

4. Don;t forget to move the tab(s) back when parked so the vent can move again.

I remember this driving me crazy when we had our trailer. The wind would make the flap move and make a banging noise - took me the longest time to realize what was happening.

Have the same problem, and I too, was/am OCD. Even turning up the music didn't keep my mind off the rattle. So, made sure the tabs were locked in place--didn't help. Finally, got some very thin foam and stuck between the vent cover and MH, then locked the tabs back in place (it took some slight pressure) and the problem was solved.

That IS the solution...was for me also.....tabs NEVER held tight enough to stop ALL the flex.....Now have lost one of the tabs (not great workmanship in product)causing the problem to recur.....

Tabs? i didnt see any tabs...

If i pull off the vent cover thing that is part of the fan I can see the fan and reach up and touch the flapping piece of metal that goes to the outside, which is covered on the side of the rig.

So you are telling me that there is some way to keep the dang thing in place? If so, i'll take a better look at it before i head out tonight.

It's also nice to hear that it drives other people nuts

I had the same problem and the tabs just don't work. Got some self adhesive velcro and it has stayed shut for the past year. Don't forget to open if you want to use the vent for cooking, but we rarely find it necessary.

Are you saying it is vented to the outside but the flap is not visible from the outside?
