I'm considering buying a RZR. I bought the KFX700 for my wife becuase it is automatic. She is a fully recreation rider -- not aggresive at all. She fell off two times last time we went to the dunes and lost confidence. But she still loves to go and wants to participate with the family. I would appreciate any thoughts about the RZR and your experience(s).
Questions I have about the RZR...
1) Can I get a RZR and two full size sport quads in a 12' garage?
2) Are they stable in the dunes?
3) Can you really have fun in one -- on-going?
4) Do you put paddles on a RZR?
Any other words of wisdom and experience would be very much appreciated. THANKS!

I do not own a RZR, but have been really looking at them.
1. I would think not
2. They are the narrowest side by side, so they are not really stable, but Polaris has announced the sport version with wider a-arms, which would help.
3. Everyone says they are a blast that keeps getting better.
4. I have seen paddles on them, but since they are 4x4, I would probably hold off until I saw how it did in the dunes.
Good Luck !

I have a 750 Brute Force and my wife has a Honda Rancher 400AT. In June of 07 we purchased the first RZR in our area. We have not been on any trail rides with the ATV since we got the RZR. We LOVE it and ride every chance we get. We only wish NY would open its eyes to the money it could bring in to the economy if it would open trail systems and promote the sport. Even with no legal places to ride the SxSs here we managed to do about 1600 mile in 13 months.

We bought a rzr and love it. Its alot of fun for sure. I think its stable but I haven't tried to purposely flip it and dont do donuts. Havent had it in the sand yet. Check out the prc and rzr forums. You'll never get her out of it once she tries it. It does take up alot of room though. You might be able to get 1 full size quad in behind it but not 2 unless you stand them up side by side. We had to drive home after buying it while on a trip and had 1 ds650 sideways and 2 kids quads standing up and had to put my wife's outlander 650 in the truck bed.

Questions I have about the RZR...
1) Can I get a RZR and two full size sport quads in a 12' garage? My friend that has a RZR can put 1 quad (standing up) in a 10' garage with his junk, hasn't really needed to take two quads. (sorry no help there)
2) Are they stable in the dunes? They are pretty stable, what he did was add wheel spacers, the only time he managed to roll, was his fault. He was coming down a single trail tree shot and gave it gas, the 4x4 w/paddles kicked in and grabbed and roll he did, no damage, just a bruised ego. He does have a Warn winch, the motor burnt out and we had to come'along it for about 20 feet, up the side of a dune. No problem, just time and some friendly duners.
3) Can you really have fun in one -- on-going? Oh yes, he installed a radio and we go out for hours and have a blast...
4) Do you put paddles on a RZR? It all depends on your ridding, do they need it NO, if you go up some steep dunes will you want them, yes.
Any other words of wisdom and experience would be very much appreciated. THANKS!
When our daughter is old enough to enjoy the dunes, we will be in the market for one.

1. I load 1RZR, 2 Z400s and 1 YZF 250 in my 12’ garage. The RZR goes in 1st backwards and off center 1 foot towards the driver’s side. The YZF is next. It sits next to the RZR. The two quads go in backwards and stand on end side by side. In stock form can't load the RZR and the quads side by side. The bunk beds make it to tight.
2. I let my (also timid) wife and 3 yo run around the dunes at Pismo without issue. Of course you have to be smart about your riding. I mean you can flip just about anything if you really want to.
3. Absolutely! I don’t care where you take it trails, dunes, or hi speed open fire roads. It is just a blast
4. I did. But you really don’t need them. On the stockers mine will climb anything at Pismo.
Mods:
Tires- Stockers for the narrow 50 trails
Paddles for the dunes with a 4’ offset wheel for a wider stance
Mudders with the big chrome wheels for the bling
Sound system for trail enjoyment
Rear view mirror for safety
Off road lights for the night runs
4 point harness so I can safely belt in my 3 year old kid
A half windshield (worth every penny)

Exact situation for me. Wife had the KFX700 for same reason until I watched it roll over her a couple times in the sand and she got real lucky each time. Great quad but really not a wifey bike ... they cant hold onto it cause so heavy and powerful ... make them learn clutch and go with a light 450. Anyways, she loves the RZR now and drives it hard through all the big stuff. She has rolled it twice (one was broken belt related) and one it went three times over before resting in the bottom of a big bowl. Stock they are very tipy and no way would I dune the big stuff without spacers AND offset wheels minimum (we did this for a while). I went all out and have a full cage that is super beefy ... basically a race cage with half doors and 4 point harnesses plus it also had +6in long travel. It saved her and the rzr during these rolls and no damage to anyone or anything really. Its a great machine ... but it needs some work to make it less tipy, safer, and even with this its still gonna go over so plan on it. New RZR S, good cage, four point harnesses, and offset wheels is the min I would dune.
