It's a replacement cost "rider" and covers all perils such as flood, fire, earthquake, etc. when the unit is in storage. When it's on the truck, it's covered by our vehicle insurance......might be worth looking into down there.
I am also in BC.
As far as I know my camper is not included in my truck insurance through ICBC, the government insurance corporation.
I have been buying "camper RV insurance" through my ICBC agent from a private insurance company. I pay around 250 dollars and that would replace my camper for a new one in case of total destruction. I 'm not be able to get this after the camper gets to a certain age.

Paoli;
I just called my agent and you're absolutely correct......my mistake.....thanks for pointing that out. ICBC only covers boxes, canopies, etc that are permanently attached to a vehicle. I had wrongly assumed that the camper was considered "attached" while in use. My household "rider" covers the camper in the event of an accident on the road.
I appologise for any confusion.
