links for each state's parks

This has links for state passes. Each state may have different rules for information they need. We went for a fishing license here in Alabama and they did not take the award letter from the VA (DH) or SS Disability (DW), they wanted a form filled out by a doctor and signed!

So check with each state.

Chuck, what you need is a Rating Decision from the VA (Department of Veteran Affairs) stating the % of your disability. Verification of your disability from your family doctor. And, I had to show proof that I've been a resident of Washington State for more than one year. Chuck, with this documentation I also received a discount on a Washington State Hunting and Fishing License (must be 30% disabled or more). I don't care to hunt so I passed on that, but I do like fishing so I bought a fishing license for $8.50 regularly $42.50 . I'm also allowed to have someone fish, clam or crab for me if they are within eye sight of me. In Washington State your also allowed free license plates for 1 car, and your exempt from paying taxes on one home only if your 100% disabled. Chuck, I hope this information will be of help to you and possibly others reading this post. Rooster

You must realize how other states work. Here in Nevada the state charges me an extra $65.00 for a purple heart auto license plate. That's in addition to the $320.00 regular registration. Having a PH/1OLC means nothing. Other states treat veterans much better as indicated on this thread. However, we do have some great buffets.

The VA sends a letter explaining your disability ratings and awards. If you don't have that you may be able to get a copy from your file. This would be all the proof that you need.

As far as I know Iowa has no discounts for disabled.
