I think your polarity is reversed. Go get a polarity meter and check to see if this is the case. They are inexpensive. Now, either the plug in the MH is wrong, or the source of the shore power is wrong. The inexpensive checker plugs into an outlet in the MH. If you are on 30 amp or higher shore power, you won't be able to check that source with the small polarity checker. If you check the MH and it shows reversed, you will need to check the shore source before reversing anything because if it is the source and not your plug or cable into the MH, you will screw it up when you tap into another shore power source.
I don't know what devices are there to check the shore power if 30 amp, but I am sure someone else knows. I don't recommend trying to ground the MH or putting a ground between the MH and the ground. That could be dramatic and possibly fatal. It is in the wiring.
Good luck!

chances are the outlet you were plugged into was not grounded, you will feel a shock on any metal on the rv, chances are your shoes offer enough resistance you dont feel it, but under the rv laying on your back the shock can be severe enough to cause severe harm to person touching it, could be other issues like a neutral wire touching metal somewhere in the chassis, unlike a house an rv has seperate grounding and neutral busses, chances are it was a ground issue with the outlet!

Where you were laying (on the ground/earth), was it damp?

When you are working on this problem do NOT touch the coach again from underneath. Get a voltmeter and measure the voltage.
Please let us know what you find.

Hi,
I had this hapen to me a couple of times. Once I was replacing a compressor relay on a RV and the RV was plugged into a 3 wire extension cord that was plugged into a 2 wire receptacle, and the polarity was reversed at that location. So each white wire was hot, the circuit breakers off made the circuit ungrounded and hot.
The owner reported tingling sometimes when getting into the RV when barefoot, and the had a dog who refused to get into their RV! Installing a 3 wire receptacle with a ground wire going to a nearby water pipe solved this mistry problem forever.
So what to check?
Get a three LED lighted circuit tester at Home Depot, Lowes or Ace Hardware. The nice person in the hardware store can tell you what to do with it. You might need a 30 to 15 amp adapter that you can use to test a 30 amp RV power receptacle. I keep one next to my water tank, so when plugging in I check the polarity each time, so I don't damage my inverter/charger.
Two yellow lights = good ground and good polarity. One red light = reversed polarity.
Only 1 yellow light and you might have a open ground wire, or are plugged into a 2 wire receptacle.
So I would guess that your ground wire is broken someplace and that something is broken in the RV. It might also be the battery charger that is working with a broken ground wire that caused you to get shocked.
If you have a voltmeter, take one lead and touch it to the steps, or bumper, and the other lead to the grass, dirt, or other ground. If you read 110 volts, be very careful at this point. If you can not find something simple to fix yourself, seek professional help! You don't want to become a shock absorber!

A broken third prong on your cord could definately have been your problem! Please throw that cord away or properly repair it before someone gets seriously hurt or killed!!
