Hi,

That truck is light enough to actually get 30 MPG.

The only thing better is changing it over to all electric!

Hey, that's a diesel.

It can therefore pull 12,500 lbs uphill at 90 mph, and/or carry a 4500 lbs, according to the Diesel police.

Happy motoring.

I've always admired those little VW diesel pickups. My wife has had her gas Rabbit since 1985 and it has well over 200k miles. I've got a friend with an old diesel 5-spd Rabbit who says he gets in the 50's on the highway.

Round Two, Got to get this puppy rolling before i can find or build a camper for it.

Dropped the engine on one side and blocked it to yank the tranny.

Man that tranny is heavy when you bench pressing it to get it out from under the truck.

The flywheel had a bolt that came out and another that almost came out, all the other were finger loose. i figure the guy who put it is was alone and didnt have someone to hold the crank from the other side so he got them finger tight then forgot to torque them down. he just never tightened the bolts. Guy i got it from had the head reworked and the injection pump went through and set for a small turbo then he drove it one mile and it started vibrating and said screw it, he thought it was a wrist pin on a piston

I am psyched, this is the ultimate Truck camper rig! With this rig i will disrespect a duallie and get a small Truck camper and just blow their mind as i buzz past the filling stations. Id like to get a small enclosed trailer with a 100 gallon tank i can fill with red diesel and make Cali back and forth and buy no fuel on the whole trip.

man it was a bugger getting that tranny back in after we torqued that flywheel down. We sat back and had a cold one and then got up to put the head back on but we got the wrong gasket, i ordered a 3 notch and man it was a 4 notch, we put feeler gauges on the pistons at top dead center and tried to convince ourselves the 3 notch would work but it was a hassle pulling all the injector lines and yanking that head so we finally, sat back and said lets just order the right 4 notch gasket

I'm going to be rolling in it this weekend. Will a Lance 1191 fit on this if i frame up something where it will ride on the top of the bed sides?

Hi Jponder,

I think that this is definitely a rig for a Hallmark!
