if the OP didn't think in at least some small part that what she did was wrong then she wouldn't have asked.
Therefore... All opinions yay or nay are valid.

My opinion is that what she did was rude at best and dangerous.
If your MH/Trailer/ whatever cannot be used without the slides out and you intend to travel late at night... you made a poor purchase.
Simple as that.

Poor planning.. Poor decisions and poor taste.

I have a set of six orange pylons and put them out in the spot next to my RV. I have six broomsticks and place one in each orange cone.

I then have yellow "Police Line-Do Not Cross" tape that gets attached to the front of my extended LR slide and out to the forward-most pylon broomstick. Wrap it once around each broomstick on the way to the back of the MH and then affix that opposite end to the rear-most side of my extended BR slide.

I then use white chalk to draw the outline of a human being on the asphalt.

Haven't had any issues yet. Usually take up two-and-a-half spots or so.

Wow, the choice of words in some posts: "rude, dangerous, poor purchase, poor planning, poor decisions, poor taste." That's a lot of negatives in a post of only 8 lines. Whatever happened to common courtesy and civilized discourse?? These kinds of opinionated posts are IMO the essence of "poor taste." Lighten up.

We parked once in a Flying J RV section. (No, we didn't put slides out.) When we woke up the next a.m. someone's slide was so close to our door we couldn't get out of the fiver.

I was not pleased and that was the last time we slept at a "Travel Plaza".

They're also called "albums" even though they come on CDs or straight to MP3. Can't play them on my record player. You call them a truckstop. The companies don't. Pointless point.

Lots of good opinions and suggested changes were made.

It's sad that so many pompous holier-than-thous have to denigrate someone to make themselves feel superior. I do so hope I don't have the displeasure of meeting you on the road.

Lots of suggestions and some funny reading, but I was just wondering…
Most marked parking lanes in truck lots are 10’ up to 12’…
Holy Cow, what RV could possibly take two full lanes and be hanging into the edge of the third???
Maybe the cones are a good idea, but to practice parking before leaving home…
