When you arrive, get yourself a newspaper as many restaurants offer early-bird specials and other type (buy one and get one free...etc..)of discounts and they advertise these in the newspaper. Also, there are many small ("mom and pop") restaurants along the service roads on each side of 17 Business (heading south from your campground). Some are quite good and they are fairly reasonable with regard to cost.
Actually, as a local, we enjoy a malt, hamburger, chili french fries and 50's music at Johnny Rockets at Broadway at the Beach. But, then again, we're old and retired and as such, we tend to live in the past :-)
Enjoy your vacation....

Another vote for the early bird specials at Gulf Stream Cafe -- the absolutely best restaurant in the area!
For a seafood buffet, our favorite is the Original Benjamin's at Restaurant Row -- check the coupon flyers for early bird specials.
Sam's Corner at Garden City is not to be missed -- a real blast from the past.
BTW, Ocean Lakes IS in Myrtle Beach -- it's the last MB address before Surfside.

I second the vote for Rossi's in NMB. We haven't been there an about 5 years but used to go every year and it was always good. The Lasagna was always my favorite.

Lots of our favorite spots have been mentioned, with the exception of Spring House Family Restaurant. They have a 10 or 15% coupon in the magazines you can get from the campground office. They remind me of a northern diner-breakfast anytime, home cooked meals, sandwiches. We have always had great service and the food was good and reasonably priced. I also second Crabby Mikes-it's worth the money!

My head is swimming - so many places, too little time (and money!). I want to thank all of you for your replies and wonderful suggestions. My family already knows that we're going on a limited budget so we need to choose wisely. Most likely our dining out choices will be limited to lunch since lunch prices tend to be cheaper. I'm looking forward to this trip like you can't believe!
