I live just off Interstate 70 and work just off Interstate 70 about 20 miles up the road. Nearly always, whether early AM or late PM, I'm on the road with RV'rs. While being very jealous of them cause I'm either going to work or coming home from work. I always want to wave, but I'm afraid those RV'rs will think I'm completely crazy or I'm trying to signal to them that something is wrong with their RV......... Wonder if we could figure out some kind of "universal signal" for members of this forum so that we could say "hi" and know that ya got friends out there. You know, something like "California howdy" but friendlier and easy to do. Got any ideas?

I don't have a suggestion but I think it's a great idea. I too envy those I see & wonder if they are on vacation or fulltimers.

How about flashing your headlights?

That will give them the impression that a cop is ahead. At least that's what flashing you headlights means around here. I like the idea of a sign though!

When we're biking, we put our left hand out with a slight downward angle and the hand open when another biker comes from the opposite direction. I know this isn't the solution, especially in bad weather, but how about a thumbs up?

I know what you mean! When I'm driving my car and see an RV I can't help but wave but, without the RV, they probably wonder why I'm waving at them. Maybe they can guess.

Maybe I should get out that ugly Good Sam sticker that I would never put on an RV and put it on my car!

I wave to other RVer's, motorcycle riders, cops, truck drivers - just about everyone including military convoys. Just wave, being pleasant has never killed anyone. Maybe they will return the good deed.

I think Steve has the best solution so far.
