Thats not too difficult. I picked up a L shaped rod online at JC Penney.com for 29.95 and cut it with a tubing cutter. This pic was just after I installed, so the holes from the old one aren't even filled. Unless your shower is different, you cannot get a good spot to attach exactly equal on both sides. The rod though is very close (plumb-wise) to the center of the lip of the shower. This helps keep the liner inside and the curtain outside.
I don't think a curved rod will make the 90 degree turn you need
