I have a 24 ft class C and am thinking of moving up to a 30 ft class A. What kind of gas mileage am I looking at and what is the best power train system in your opinion, slides or no slides. Now I'm not looking at a new bus I'm talking around a late 90's or early 2000. Help me if you can, my wife and I really would like some opinions.

I have had a 99 32' Southwind for 3 years. Great machine. Has one living room slide out. If I was to do it again I would like to have a bedroom slide out as well. Other than that 32' suits us just find.

I have a 35' Damon with two slides. I find it very easy to drive and it is the right length to slide nicely into most spots, including my driveway.

My buddy has a 2007 30' HR Admiral 30FS with the 8.0L Power Horse drivetrain.
It's cool because most of the left side of the rig is a slide.
He averages 9 mpg.

$100K for a new GP that should be good for 20 years is not bad. $5K a year for depreciation on average.

We have been looking for smaller Class A's also, and there doesn't seem to be to many options at the 30ft size. Even if a company has a floorplan in that size, dealers don't seem to have them on the lot. Good Luck in your search.
