Okay, I had a posting about Bar Harbor, Maine.
Now I have it down to 3 campgrounds for the second week in September & need your input.
I am leaning towards Bar Harbor KOA.
I thought I was set on MT Desert Narrows & then had a change of heart & was thinking of going to Bar Harbor Campgrounds just because it was the closest to town.
But after talking with all 3 campgrounds, I am leaning towards Bar Harbor KOA.
I will be in a 40' Class A if that makes a difference.
So keeping it to
1) Bar Harbor KOA
2) Bar Harbor Campground
3) Mt Desert Narrows
What would you do?

We spent last summer at Narrows Too. It was newly renovated, on the shuttle route to Bar Harbor and close to Ellsworth for shopping, movie rental, etc.

Stayed three times at Bar Harbor KOA and really liked it. A little pricey, but nice restrooms and staff. Try to get a watersied site. Great sunsets!

Mount Desert Narrows and TOO were bought out last winter (07/08) and are under new management. It is not the same place you stayed at. We stayed at Narrows 1 a couple weeks ago. I will never stay there again, nor will I recommend it to anyone.
As you already know RVPA, my vote is Bar Harbor Campground, but you won't be disappointed in the KOA if you decide to stay there. We stayed at the KOA last summer. The best sunsets. Very friendly staff.
Enjoy your trip.

outside our camper at Bar Harbor KOA......the Waterfront sites have no Sewer Hook ups.

My vote is > 2) Bar Harbor Campground < mainly (no pun intended) because I have stayed there each of the last 4 years. Office people are friendly and helpful. I love picking the blueberries for breakfast pancakes. It seems to have a nice crowd, not a noisy party crowd. With a 40' MH you probably need 50amp service and that is a couple of bucks extra. The 50amp sites are up near the front and each has a lot of space and a tree or two for shade. They are also all pullthroughs.

Stayed 1 week waterfront at Bah Habah KOA about this time last year and loved it. The local pie lady comes every day and the homemade blueberry pies are great!

Bar Harbor KOA or Narrows Too.....both are nice.
Stayed at the Narrrows Too and loved it....you can walk to the IGA.
KOA has a better view if you have a water site.
Mt Desert Narrows has smaller sites than the Narrows Too...as far as I'm concerned.
