Once you get past 32 feet it's not going to make much difference as far as limiting your camping choices, IMO.

We have a 2006 Gulf Stream Ultra C5500 gasser and have been very satisfied with it.

ok, so we're ready to buy our RV that we are gonna go full timing in for a year or two. there are two that we like and we're on the fence about which one to get.

Big difference in a Endura and Endura Max. Especially for full timing. I know others do it in small RV's. Is there a reason why you are looking at toy haulers?
The Gasser will get about 6 to 8 mpg. The diesel may get 10 mpg. But if you are going to load it up probably not.

yeah, we want to take bikes (moto's and bicycles) with us, it's very important. plus i will be working full time and need an office space. so i will partition the garage and use a bit of it for an office. we're in our 30's so using the overhead bed won't be too much trouble. plus once we're done full timing i'd rather have a toy hauler. it definitely has it's compromises, but i think it's better for us and the stuff we want to take.

using 6mpg for gas and 8mpg for diesel the price of gas over 20k miles will be like $2k-ish using the latest national averages. i figured with the diesel loaded 8 is a safe number, although a boy can always dream of 9mpg

i think we're gonna do the 39c. it really seems to be a better bargain. it's a 2nd owner RV so both owners have taken the hits on value. he's asking $60k and the low NADA is 89k whereas the low NADA on the Gulf Stream is $77k and the one i'm looking at is $63k from a dealer and i doubt they would go much lower and the fees would be painful.

Our 23,000 lbs rig and toad has averaged 10 mpg over 30,000 miles. Staying close to 60 mph. Speed is the killer of MPG. Save the high speed for cycles and cars.
