Hey dbaxley, I did a search for BCIMAPS but could not get anything. Do you have the web address for these maps. Thanks

I use Mexico Major Road map for Garmin GPS on a GARMIN GPSMAP 60x. I works fine, but only the Major Roads are displayed. The price is just $99. You find screen shots http://www.global-map.net/mx/screen_shots.html.

I've read on other forums that this download for Garmin GPS in Mexico works fine, although I have not purchased it myself.

This looks tempting Topazguns but my fear is that after I buy the download, I will not be able to install/use it and will be faced with dealing with Customer Support in Spanish. I wonder if these are available in Mexico as a direct purchase where I could get help installing it in my Garmin Nuvi 260.

I recently bought and downloaded this. Go to Map download and you can purchase for $97.00. It's a US company and all went smoothly.

I should add that you must have Garmin Mapsource on your computer in order to use this product and upload to your GPS. I have the Nuvi 750 and it was an easy procedure overall.

I also downloaded this map to my etrex gps. It works fine and shows a lot of roads and pemex stations etc.

The support via e mail was very good, I had replies within an hour or so and even on weekends.

Here is the website to down load Mapsource from Garmin.

Just bought it a bit ago have had a look, though we are not leaving for a month. City maps of Guadalaraja and Mexico City appear very detailed, how accurate we will have to find out. Monterrey also is supposed to have detailed street level mapping, but didn't look as we don't go there! The town of Zihuatanejo, Ixtapa Lazaro Cardenas don't appear at all, but zoom in where Z should be and you get a detailed town map! Even has some street names!!!

PV shows the streets, but the route in and out of the southern "tunel" don't show as two separate (one way) streets as it should.

Will try to remember to post comments as we go along.

Hey I am also interested and will follow this thread. Would this be just city maps? I could not find a new edition on the Garmin site. I also see that Global Maps has one that is suppose to work on Garmin, Has anyone used this one?

We bought the Global Map on line last year; the Garmin so far appears much better, had minimal city map info

We are in Saltillo, using the Garmin Mexico map in a Garmin Nuvi 750. The map shows the streets, and tells which street is coming up next. Haven't tried to put in an address yet, but entering the lat and long as listed by the Churchs's, took us very close to the campground, though not the enterance.

Looking for locations such as banks, restaurants etc didn't work; it listed many, but showed the nearest Sorianos some 60 km away in the state of Nuevo Leon, while we were parked in front of Sorianos in Saltillo!

Using it to find the the border crossing (Eagle Pass) it got quite confused (trying to send us North to Del Rio I think!) but once across and away, it had our eta just about dead on, updating all the way of course.

It's value was that it showed up-coming street names, very valuable as some areas in Mexico signage is interesting at the least. (Saltillo is very good)

So far the Garmin Mexico map is far better that the Global, which we have in an other GPS (The Garmin V)

Glad we spent the hundred bucks
