I have found the best use for a bd liner if you have a TC is to use it in the back yard. The make great firewood covers.

When I got my new to me truck I did just that and also put a rubber mat under the liner,I have gone many miles without a problem but it makes it more difficult to load the camper as your clearances are less.
I am going to remove it and get a spray in liner soon.

Have a 1983 F250HD long bed with a slick rigid plastic bed liner carrying a 1975 Honey slide-in TC, and have been using this combo since 1999. TC clamps to underframe at 4 points using chains & turnbuckles. Absolutely no trouble with sliding or instability with this system. I think the slickness of the bed liner helps in loading & unloading the TC.
How did this ever get to be an issue?

I've had this truck and a TC for coming up on 10 years. Have always had a bedliner and have NEVER had a problem with shifting, loading, unloading, etc. There's a lot a great info here as well as expierence, but since it sounds like you've already got the bedliner installed give it a whirl and see how you like it. If you don't, take it out and put a mat down. Sorry you asked?

How does slickness of the bed liner help loading and unloading. It must be just the area of contact on the wheel wells.

Maybe if the front bumpers are too close it will slip backward a bit when it drops in?

I would not have a plastic liner, even if I didn't carry a camper. Besides the obvious slick problem, hauling anything will slide around, they retain dirt and moisture. Dirt and moisture slowly grinds the paint away then it rusts. I have seen this on several trucks including the last used one I bought.
Put me in the rubber mat camp.

My bedliner fits very well and stays put. It has the Chevy Bowtie logo on the front and has 1/2-3/4" ribs all the way accross. I don't have problems with stuff sliding around.
I did know a lady that Armour-All'ed her bedliner and WHAT A MISTAKE!!
