Has anyone actually received their Passport Card yet? I am not talking regular Passports as I know they are sending those out in four weeks or less. These are the new wallet sized cards, and yes, I know they are not good for flying into the country. I sent in my application Mid-July and still waiting in Mid-August. My paperwork came back as approved.

We applied February 9th and just received them on August 7th so you may have a while to wait.

Passport Cards are an alternative for travelers to and from Canada and Mexico by land or water, not by air. They are cheaper ($45) and easier to carry. I am no expert but they are supposed to speed the entry process and provide security for personal information. Since I only plan to visit border towns by automobile or foot they should work well for me.

I got mine today, right at seven weeks but they say that will speed up. There was a huge backlog of something like 350,000 before they started making them in July. Very nice with lots of engraving and electronic code.
