DH has lined up a seasonal job at Disney W W of Sports.
I'll look for something to do when we get down there.

Your lucky DH. I called Disney casting yesterday and was told they were fully staffed for the last 3 months and they were not hiring. However, they said we could get put on a waiting list. They mentioned we needed to come in to Casting to complete applications once we arrived in FL. How did your DH line up his seasonal job? Did he have to go down to FL or is there another route to go? I was always told that WDW was desperate for workers especially us "older folks" so I was kinda surprised by what I was told on the phone. Can't believe that all jobs are filled.

We may have started looking too late for fall/winter positions w/salary. Seems most employers are full and/or looking for spring/summer season.

We have several volunteer positions lined up but after purchasing new TT, we would like to find salaried positions. We have set up AA on WKNews and still have hopes for landing something before next spring.

Any leads will be appreciated!

In the meantime we're volunteering at John Tanner State Park in Georgia. In January, more volunteering at St. Joseph Peninsula State Park in Florida.

My husband and I will be spending the winter in Tucson AZ at Voyager RV resort. We made our reservations then applied for work. At that time they had some paid positions still available. We will be working in housekeeping. You might want to check them out.

We are doing the retired thing this winter.
We will be in Avon Park, FL. for the winter.
Plan on being there in two weeks and stay till the end of April, at that time we head north to Bar Harbor, ME for the 2009 summer.
Looking forward to six months of retirement.

Hi
DH is a formally trained chef, culinary institute grad.
That may have helped. He was hired to work at Disney's
Wide World of Sports complex all by phone. He applied in
August.

It's a bit tedious, but you can log onto any of the plethora of Hotel/Resort sites in and surrounding Disney to view their various job postings. There were like 31 positions at the Swan/Dolphin alone though that may have dwindled by now.
We were told that Restaurants such as in Downtown Disney hire staff individually and are not associated with casting.

other jobs:
The local papers online (Orlando Sentinel, etc.) are another good source & they also list Disney positions.
The campgrounds ALWAYS have at least some small tasks needed and you get your foot in the door that way, work up to more hours. Lastly, Tropical Palms in Kissimmee seems to have a lot of positions... then there's all those other parks, Universal, etc.
