It's usualy the poor signal the parks put out. They need a better location of equipment.

You can add an antenna. Do a search for wi-fi antenna, some good ones have been discussed here.

I have a handful of USB WIFI adapters I have tried over the years and until recently my Hawking HWU54D was the best I had seen. I saw a post about the Alfa AWUS036H that sounded promising as it had a screw in antenna that could be removed and a remote mounted antenna added. I bought one from data-alliance.com along with a 20' extension cable and their 9" magnet based antenna. With that antenna on a pole about 8' above the roof of my GS I had a good connection to a hotspot over 1/4 mile away recently.

A good website is: WIFI-LINK.com,
Then click on antennas, then omni antennas.
Also under WLAN accessories find the USB Adaptor!
They work for me,not affiliated.

The problem is that both the router and your client have limited range
There are several things that can improve your client's range
One trick is to take a standard USB Wi-Fi adapter (one of the ones that looks like a thumb drive) and tape it on the center of the plastic "hockey puck" lense of a DirecTV or Dish-300 Satellite dish, I once calculated the gain of such a dish. Should give you some decent range
One of these days (When I get another USB wi-fi adapter) I'm going to try it
