We've in 30+ years found one that wasn't totally corroded that wasn't fixable with cleaning or at most a control board or gas valve.
If you can read and handle hand tools (and depending on where it's installed, being able to bend like a pretzel...LOL) you can "save" that puppy.

"Bend like a pretzel" Heheh, that's for the front furnace. My rear furnace is "pretzel" servicable as far as the front panel(limit switch). If it needs to be removed, the watertank needs to come out first. Take the bed out, disconect the waterlines, remove tank (to where?), remove vents, pull furnace, repair, replace, & hope & pray you did it right.

Thanks to all of you for your help, I have put this fix at the top of the list, winter is coming. I will download the furnace info to keep on hand. I will post an update when complete. Hopefully soon, we are going to out sons house in N.Il, early Sept. some cool mornings, and the DW doesn't like to be cold, well neither do I. Getting to be a wuss in my old age.
