We just bought this C, so I decided to wash it. It needed a good wash, the whole coach came really clean, except the rear wall. The back of the C has some kind of crud, that I cannot get off. What ever it is was rubbed on, you can see this. I have tried everything that I can think of, that latest thing that was suggested was to use WD40, so that is what I will try tomorrow. I know I will find something that will work. Do any of you have an idea what might work. I do not know what this crud is made of. I guess I could cover it with a layer of paint, but really don't want to do this.
This crud is on the outside of the C.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Bill

I am sorry, I should have said that the crud is on the outside of the C.
I just figured out that I can edit my message, so I posted the info about the outside of the C in the first post.
Someday I may learn how to use this machine. Yea, right.

Bill,
Is this crud in one spot or splattered about the whole back?

I would also be sure you don't have an oil or transmission leak....

Ill assume you checked underneath for leaks, as noted above.
Now when I have something hard to get off like pitch, I use Lacquer thinner it will take almost anything off, including wax. So you will need to re wax the area, but it will take it off. I would test a small spot in an out of the way place first, but it doesn't hurt mine, and I haven't seen anything it wouldn't take off yet.

During our trip last winter to AZ and back. We picked up something that looked like tar. Did not clean up easy. Still not sure what it was. But it was all over toad and rear of MH. Used a gel type bug and tar remover purchased at Wal-Mart. Removed the marks without any damage to finish on either vehicle.

Do check everything underneath for leaks. I had 'crud' on the back of an old Scout 800 that was from a rear pinion seal leak. If I'd driven it far enough, it would have destroyed the differential by running it dry. Hopefully, it's just road surface gunk that you ran thru at some time. I recently got some grey crud all over the front of the Tiger (white) courtesy of the Virginia DOT.

Try GO-JOE hand cleaner. Rub it on and wait a few minutes then remove.
