Well, I stopped at the local Promptmed office today to get an opinion on the spider bite. "that is really interesting looking" was the comment from the NP who did not touch it, but washed her hands with sanitizer immediately

She wasn't sure if it was infected, but gave me some antibiotics and a steroid dosepak just in case. She said it kind of looked like shingles, which I have never seen, so I can't say.

Right now it's about 2in by 1 in with a tail - small black center and lots of blisters... ewww

Kathy, I saw my doctor today also for a blistery rash on my lower back (Roger is calling it my "tramp stamp")and two other areas on the left side of my body. My doctor said she is almost positive it is shingles. Of course, when I first noticed it last week, I thought maybe I had a spider bite too (no black dot though)
She told me to use calamine lotion for any itching and come back if it gets any worse. Shingle are notoriously painful but, so far, so good!
Hope you get better soon!

I don't think we should camp anywhere more than once/year. I'm not going to pull any punches, but I mean Evergreen. I know it's convenient, and it's a nice campground, and because it's open all year, but I think we can try to find some new places to go and get a bit more creative. If we do a late-year rally there (keep in mind the OSU-PSU game is in NOVEMBER next year), I think we should move the Spring rally to a new campground.

Nobody get offended, now. Purely my opinion, but I wanted everyone to know.

Leslie, I agree. There are lots of places we have not visited and it would be nice to try some different campgrounds. Roger and I have spent very little time in the western part of the state, so we could be interested in going there.

Kathy, take care of that bite!!!

Denise, I hope it is not shingles for you. Had a bout with that a long time ago on the left side of my chin. Best way to describe the pain was me wanting to take a knife and just cut it off. My chin looked like ground beef, not really nice to look at. They used a pill and cream with Zovirex in it and it did the trick. Oh, lots of pain pills as well. Good luck.

Kathy, my younger son was just diagnosed with Shingles too. He's weren't nearly as bad as I have seen them get. I can voulch for Blue Max, they can be really ugly & painful. Go see the DR.

Hi!
I agree Leslie with what you said not more than once ayear. We mentioned it to Steve earlier about Cardinal Center CP. for the OSU/Penn. Tailgate rally but a lot of people had already made rev. at Evergreen and we thought it would be to much of a hasel to switch to for that late in the year. It would be a great place for the next one (OSU/Penn.) in Ohio because they have a rec. room with either a 40"or 50" TV. There was a cost we were told at that time to use it,maybe things has changed since we were there earlier in the spring when we ran into
Linda(Margaritaville)from Marion. I see from the pictures they got their shelter builted like they said in the new section this summer.
Suggestion : Indian Lake SP.-close to Neil Armstrong Mus.
Fort Loramie SP.- Eldora Speedway sprint and late model races
Kitchenaide factory and outlet store close by
at Greenville-ladies!!!
State Fairground CG.- Bluejacket (hockey game)

I'd like to add a couple cents of my own for planning next year's rally. I know it may sound odd coming from someone in PA, but I really think the "official, sanctioned" Rallies should be held only in the state of Ohio. It's nice to have these rallies in other states for a reason to travel to them, but I think we're losing site of the original purpose of the group as stated on the main page of our website:

"The RV.NET Ohio Rally is a chance for members of RV.NET from Ohio to meet in person and enjoy a weekend of camping with new friends and old, sometimes having been old friends that had never actually met in person before."

I'd really like to see the official rallies be held all around the state, maybe even make an effort to have one in each region each year. Maybe we could make it a goal that over so many years we will have had a rally in each county? While it's nice to make them centrally located, that's great for those that live in central Ohio but still not good for those in say Cincinnati. Just some more things to think about as we begin planning next year.

.02 from me: I agree that we should try new places and make it a goal to hit all the counties in Ohio. True, some may not be big fancy places, with pools and rec centers, but whatever happened to friends gathering around their campsites to enjoy a simple campfire and each others company? Now, on the other hand, for the early Spring and late Fall rallies, ain't nothin' wrong with pools and fancy rec centers! In fact, I think they are a necessity!

We will be coming in around 6:00 PM Friday evening. We are on site #14
Will bring an electric griddle also. With all these griddles, maybe we can sell grilled cheese sandwiches to the Amish! Friday nite we are bringing taters and pie, Saturday, appetizers and a dessert.
