Interesting point about the lack of a PDI completed. We had the same experience when we picked up our 08' 35GS in early June. We had to wait 2 additional days to allow the dealership to complete the 26 deficiencies that I noted on the coach before we set sail. Since then, we have had dust problems to deal with in the basement and in the coach. Upon further investigation we found holes the size of soccer balls cut in the floor under the sinks in bathroom and kitchen to run lines and wires. None sealed up. Also, the basement is full of holes and dust gets everywhere. For all those planning a trip up the Alaska Highway in your Seneca, make sure you seal it up in all those areas as there is a lot of road work happening this year. Having said all that, we love the coach and all that it offers. It has been a delight to drive and to camp in along the way.

We have a 2008 Jayco Seneca 35G and it has been flawless. I was expecting problems from what I have read but just don't have any issues. Everything works as advertised. Wish I could say that for the other class A pushers I have had.
Jayco built one right and I was lucky enough to get it I guess. We love the handling and drive of the Kodiak 6.6 duramax. We tow a 2008 Jeep Rubicon 4 door. Just got back from the Colorado mountains and had no problem going up or down the passes. Dash A/C keeps the whole coach cool. It will freeze you out! Never had that in a MH before.
We get many questions from other RVers about the Seneca while traveling. Seems the super C class may be the new fad. We sure like ours.
I upgraded the front tv to a 32" and replaced the speakers and surround sound unit with a higher end from Best Buy. I also upgraded the Microwave to a convection. We bought a memory foam mattress pad for the queen bed and it really is comfy. I plan to add some pull-outs in the storage compartments in the future.
We are planning to tour the country in our Seneca and couldn't be happier with our choice. For the money they are a great buy! Much more MH than a gas class A in the same price range. Tex

I hope Jayco listens and learns from this post. In this current RV economy and plummeting sales, they cannot afford to have owners not 100% happy with their units.
Our specific unit, though not a Seneca, has been serving well. Some screws have stripped out (especially the queen bed support struts) but overall everything is all well. Have not missed a vacation yet.

We have had an 07 Seneca 36FS for a little over a year now and just over 11,000 miles. We use it year round, snow, rain, sun. It has been a great unit. As others have stated we have had all of the listed problems, and some others. The local Jayco dealer has two branches. We finally switched over because of poor service, and just plain getting the run around. What a world of difference, they actually fix the problems and explain things to you. I have also contacted Jayco directly for a few issues, they were actually great, several emails all responded to, and they called me to explain a problem better. So overall its a good unit, better quality control would make it a great unit. And if Jayco is reading this build this unit on a 6500 or 7500 chasis, so it can "legally" & safely tow more.

Well, after over a month, we did get our Seneca back. Everything appears to be fixed and we were quite happy. That is until I noticed that the outside refrigerator access door must have blown off somewhere on the highway.
I drove the route twice last night in a vain attempt to find it but no luck. I'll try one more time, even with a snowballs chance, to attempt to avoid the problems Monday is going to bring. A little luck please.

Sounds like you had many problems. I would like to post our experience as well, as we bought a 36fs in July and went right out to a cross country trip (CA to NJ and back).
Overall, it was a pleasant experience and none of the issues we feared happened. After reading all the horror stories, my husband brought about every tool known to man! :-)...it was our first RV trip as well.
There were quality control issues. The screen door didn't line up. My husband fashioned a a closure which has been working very well. LOTS of squeaks, but we got used to it. We checked the battery harness before leaving, and it was fine with no pinching. (heard others had an issue with this). The biggest problem was one of our first nights I was making tuna, and the sink started leaking all over. Apparently the elbow was loose and came out. Needless to say I checked that every time thereafter with no problems! Figuring out the tvs was a bit of a hassle. The surround sound was fine for us, you have to change settings, but generally felt it was too loud for our neighbors. often our cable wasn't clear, even though we figured out the little button fairly inaccessible up in the receiver area (switch between cable/antennae).
Our auto leveling system seemed to stop working. We just used the buble leveler, and everything seemed fine. I need to figure that out and take it to the dealer.
We had leaking under the bathroom sink sometimes. I thought it was a pressure buildup from using the "stop water" feature on the shower head...my husband thinks it was something else. We kept a towel under there, cracked the faucets when we dumped tanks.
The tank sensors seemed to not work almost immediately. We would empty the black, and it never would say empty. We sprayed it, put ice cubes in it, to no avail. Just winged it from there, and dumped every 2 days when we had the 3 kids with us. It was suggested by another poster that we use external sensors.
The outside light by the front door was messed up. There was some aluminum foil inside it when my husband opened up to check why it didn't work. it was all melted in there. We haven't talked to the dealer about that yet, either.
One of the hinges broke off in the under unit storage. My husband fixed that.
Screws kept coming out of the walls, usually the ones hold blinds. In yellowstone we were near the Do-It center, my DH bought wall anchors and fixed that problem.
As far as we were concerned, these were all little things that were annoying, but not nearly as bad as some others have had with their coaches. We were very happy we were not sidelined for anything, and we only hit bad weather once in all our trip.
Good luck everyone else. We would buy a Jayco again. The bunks were great for the kids. The shower was pretty roomy. The only other coach I would probably like would be a Dynamax.
