i posted on her a while back about haveing the floor in my slide replced. by forest river. they now say they have to replce the whole wall in the slide because it too is damaged and the fiberglass is bubbleing and cracking. ive had this camper 2 seasons and have not taken one trip where i didnt find a problem. the last trip a week ago, the kitchen sink sprang 2 leaks and i was foreced to take time out of my trip to go find an rv place and buy a new faucet. and replce it. the warrenty will be up in the spring and i see no end of the problems in sight.. im fed up with my unit. called dealer today, but owner was not in was told to call back tomarrow. im just not sure what to expect. i want a new unit. for the money we pay for these things i expect to be able to use them with out a hassel every time we go out. it has ruined my camping expierence. nedd advice on what to expect and how i should handle it?

Perhaps a visit with an attorney who specializes in warranty issues could give you better advice than anyone on any internet forum. You seem to have serious problems with your RV and a significant amount of money invested. You would be wise to protect your investment and that money with sound, factual advice. I am sure you are a hard working, honest person who just wants a value for your money invested, and I am quite sure you are a decent person, so please do not take this wrong. That is even more reason to seek advice from someone who could weild some power in your behalf.

Sorry but your warranty doesn't say ANYTHING about replacing unless it can't be repaired. I'd say you are going to have a problem getting a new RV unless the same problem occurs multiple times and they don't have any luck in repairing the problem. It's POSSIBLE that a new RV could be wrangled out of them but it would be just to avoid bad publicity. It NEVER hurts to ask but very RARELY happens. Even with a car/truck where lemon laws are in effect, the same problem has to occur several times to get that kind of relief. Good luck / Skip

The dealer just sold it. The manufacturer built it and is the most responsible. Trust me, if the builder stood behind their product and replaced it I am sure the dealer would not object. On the other hand is it fair to ask the dealer to accept full responsibility for defects caused by the builder? I think most dealers will step up to the plate for you if they think the builder will coopperate. My experience is that the ones that built the RV could care less once they have your money. Hope your experience is different and better. Good luck.

I am sorry that you are having big problems with your trailer but why not let Forest River get a chance to fix it? Many others have had similar problems. I know of one member who has a Jayco Eagle, only a couple of years old, that has to have the whole roof and at least one wall replaced. I would suggest giving the factory a chance to make you whole before you contact an attorney or take other action.
By the way, the minute you post that you have, or are going to contact an attorney, you will not be able to post anymore about your problem on this forum. Here is what our rules state about that.
"Posts are not allowed in which a local or state consumer action board and/or legal counsel is/have been involved. This includes posts related to future, ongoing or past lawsuits."
Like it or not, that is what the Forum Rules state and it is rigidly enforced.
Please keep that in mind. Good luck with getting your situation resolved.

so you think its ok to have to replace a whole wall and a roof on a couple year old unit? thats unacceptable in my book. and i never said i was doing anything with an attorney.. i will give the dealer and manufacture every chance to do the right thing. the trouble im haveing in the slide is a screwed up repair the manufacture did the first time. ive had leaks in the roof the plumbing, elactrical problems equiptment failure. and botched repairs. the last time it came back from indiana the kitchen vent fell out on the counter and the fantastic fan was put back in wrong an leaked all over the bathroom. there repairs aren't very good.

OK, horror stories. I ordered a King of the Road TT in 1985. I was stationed at Ft Hood, TX at that time and went to San Antone to pick it up. The bench dinette back was protruding out about 5" into the hallway, so they had to modify it. A few weeks later, I picked it up and towed it back to Hood. When I opened the front door, water poured out; they had filled the water tank under the bed, but had failed to install the drain plug; 50 gallons of water were in the floor from front to rear. Took it back again. From that point forward, EVERY TIME WE WENT OUT, something went wrong. After about a year, we were so fed up, I decided to trade it to anything. I called the Holiday Rambler dealer in Austin (closed now), and talked with a salesman about what he had on the lot. On the way there, the right side rear tire blew and the tread separated from the carcass. As the tread unrolled, it hooked the rear step and tore it off except for one bolt, and then tore an arc 18" up over and around the tire on the side of the trailer. I tied the step up and drove the remaining 30 miles at ~20 mph to the dealership and said, "There it is, let's trade". I bought my first Holiday Rambler and will never own another brand.
