What is a good campground membership for rate discounts? We already belong to Good Sam but we plan to travel all winter and we are looking for the cheap way to stay here and there. thanks for your help.

Probably the first thing to do is to check the member parks and see which one, if any, have parks where you will want to stay. We have Coast to Coast and Camp Club USA. Not a major investment and quickly pay for themselves each year. Watch out for black out dates.

Passport America is probably the best bargain on the market with literally thousands of parks available and half price camping. Yes there are SOMETIMES restrictions about how long you can stay or when discounts are available but it has been our EMERGENCY campground locater for quite a few years now. Pretty hard to do wrong for $44.00 a year.
If you're thinking about one of the park memberships like "Thousand Trails" or others, give a look on Ebay or Cregs List and you can usually find them for cents on the dollar.

You might also consider Passport America. They're about the oldest and largest 1/2 price camping outfit out there. Have been a member for a number of years and it has saved me big time. But I camp 200 nights a year and can work around most restrictions.

yep, passport america is a great value IMHO. one or two nights a year and it's paid for itself. I wouldn't get one of the mega dollar programs myself.

I only use PPA and Good Sam. I used to have a KOA, but got real tired of those parks with all the extra charges.
