Well, it was bound to happen. I've been so careful with foodstuffs inside my 1-yr old fiver and the rug is in virtually new condition. Yesterday, I accidentally spilled about half a glass of grape juice on my light beige carpet. My heart sank since I expected that the juice would leave an impossible to clean stain and I would have to cover the area with a throw rug.
Fully expecting my efforts to fail, I immediately blotted up as much of the juice as I could and then applied some RESOLVE carpet cleaner/stain remover I happened to have on hand.
I waited the 3 minutes according to instructions on the RESOLVE bottle and to my amazement the stain was completely removed. Even under close inspection it's impossible to tell a spill happened there. I believe the carpet is a "stain repellent" type and no doubt made the clean up that much easier. LESSON: be sure to keep a carpet cleaner/stain remover handy so that any spill can be attended to immediately. Quick action will help insure that the stain can be completely removed.

I would pick up a can of Scotch Guard and reapply to the area. Use a brush to rake the nap both ways and spray for future protection.

I've never had to try it, but I've been told the best way to get grape stains out of a carpet is with white wine.
It sounds like Resolve may have changed that.

Hitchhiker must have a really good carpet. A friend of mine has had several accidents(spills) and flooded his floor twice and the carpet still looks like new. He has an '04.

The best way to get red wine (and red grape) stains out of a carpet (or clothing, etc.) is to use Wine Away. It comes in a spray container and we get it at our local liquor store where we buy our wine. I'm sure it's available in other stores as well. I don't know if Wally World carries it or not, but my guess would be they do. It is fantastic!

If you dont have a professional cleaner immediately available, pour a lot of salt on the stain (after blotting most of the liquid up) and leave overnight. The salt absorbs the wine.
