HOBO: I don't think I'd want to use WD-40 on the carpet .
If I were to spill anything on the rug in my previous motorhome (1990) it would have left some kind of mark even after attempting to clean it. I do think the rugs in some of these newer RV's are stain resistant (or, repellent). It sure cleaned up nice...don't know if it was the quality of the carpet, the RESOLVE or both.

I had a professional carpet cleaner clean my house once. He was buffing over the carpet with that solvent they use and dark splotchy stains were revealed. Then he asked if I ever used Resolve. I did. He told me that Resolve was one of the worst products to use because it leaves a residue behind that attracts dirt deep inside the carpet. I saw what he meant by the dark splotches, which eventually came out.
