We have owned a Heartland North Trail 28BHS since February. Love it love it love it. We moved up from a hybrid to this camper. Great quality. And even better customer service. We have had some minor new line issues but we have received the very best customer service. I am on a first name basis with several people at the factory. Every email and phone call has been promptly returned and with much enthusiasm and helpfulness.
I highly recommend Heartland in general. Good luck with your choice.

We too have a 28BHS since April and love it. All minor issues have been taken care of and the customer support is top notch. Don't expect glamorous options or gadgets, just quality materials and complete functionality.

My wife and I bought a North Trail 31BHD. We have found the quality of this unit to be much better than other TT's in the same price range. As for the slides...Once you have an elec. slide, you will never want to pull and tug at another manual slide again. I only have one suggestion about the Heartland product. Look at the tires, and make sure you upgrade to a radial. Heartland uses bias tires by DURO. Many members have had issues with Duro tires. Use the search feature at the top page and look up Duro tires. Make sure you are happy with the floor plan and that you have enough closets and pantry space. Good luck with your new TT.

We have a Skyline and have had no issues or problems with the unit. I've had some issues with my oven, but that's an appliance issue not anything with skyline. I've called their customer service with questions and had great results. I would not be afraid to buy another skyline...

If you want a North Trail, look in Lumberton at Happy Trails RV. See a man by the name of Ken Coats. He works a great deal. We tried Camping World in Katy, but found a much better deal and customer service in Lumberton. If you want more info PM me with a contact #. I'll be happy to talk with you about our TT.

As a Layton by Skyline owner I will give you a brief rundown.
Had several minor problems, some mfg and some not. However, it was the fantastic customer service I rec'd from Skyline that made it ok. I realize that every mfg has some problem children, the real proof is how well they take care of you. And Skyline gets and A+ rating from me. I would not hesistate to buy another of their products.
Good luck and Happy Camping

We are not owners of either brand. However, we are looking to upgrade.
I was directed to the Heartland forum here:
Heartland
I have never heard so many upbeat and positive comments about any mfg than Heartland. I have received PM's from several indicating that Heartland takes their customers and issues very seriously.
Their forum is monitored by Jim B? who serves as a liason between the factory and the forum. The forum is NOT affiliated with Heartland but they do periodically visit to see the concerns some may have.
I have been told that Heartland will call individuals that have issues to assure their problems are resolved 100% to the customers satisfaction.
I dont know what others see, feel or hear, but it seems to me that most mfgs treat their lines with a different level of service. Those buying at entry level dont seem to get the respect as those buying the more expensive rigs...and I dont think this is right. Let the differences remain in the product and upgrades, not service.
We are going looking today 8/23/08 and Heartland is at the top of our list.
We have had a SunnyBrook for 7 years and had only very minor problems and most due to age, not quality.
