A while back I asked about not having good water pressure in the kitchen and bathroom. The good people of this forum advised me to check the pressure valve behind the city water hookup. Not being very mechanically inclined and a procastenator I waited and put up with very poor water pressure. I am now here to tell you I took the city water hookup loose and took the valve to campersworld today. The new one cost about $32 and about 15 to 20 minutes of work I now have great water pressure. I just wish I had done it sooner. Very easy job and the DW just loves me.

Be aware that there are two different inlets, One has a pressure regulator built in one does not

The park I was just in had 45PSI (measured) in the lines, this is the proper pressure for a motor home but once it goes through my Camco CX-90 filter.. there's not much left (Will clean filter before I go out again)

Some parks push the pressure to over 100 PSI,

That will blow seals, cause your TPR valve on your water heater to .. Well, R (Leak) and otherwise do damage UNLESS.. You have a regulated inlet or a regulator before your inlet (I have the latter)

wa8yxm,

What do you mean there are 2 different inlets. He is talking about the city water hose connector, I believe. Is there another?

Maybe im just over causious about the pressure, but Iv got a gauge that goes onto the faucet then the regulator and another gauge after the reg.
This way I can check both the incoming and after pressure incase the reg fails.
Also carry an extra reg just incase.

Two different product numbers are used for the city water inlet

One has a built in pressure regulator.. The other does not

Otherwise they are nearly identical. (you can tell if you know what to look for, which I do)

That is what I mean

My rig came with a "Straight" connector, basically a spring check valve is all that is in there

Some rigs have regulators as well. I'm much happer with what I have
