When it comes to pure relaxation, there is nothing like it. Go for it.

I was in a small deer lease club several years ago and I would wait until the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving to go to camp. I would arrive on Sunday afternoon when most of the guys were leaving and set up camp. From Sunday until Wednesday I would be in camp all alone. I drove home on Wednesday night for Thanksgiving and returned on Friday with all the other guys. Those 3 days alone were the best part of the deer lease. Boondocking alone, watching nature go by, eating and sleeping when I want, I truely relaxed for those few days. I am out of the club now and I sure do miss the time alone in the woods........

My favorite time last weekend was the quiet time in the morning, just me and the dogs, some coffee and the quiet. It was nice to have some time just to sit and relax before everyone else got moving. Not sure I'd be up to camping by myself, but for 45 minutes it was nice.

I get twice as much vacation time as DW does. I go up to our seasonal site (2 hours from home) alone alot, just to get away. I usually go up on Wednesday morning and get all set up, which isn't much (turn on the water, put out the awning, get out the camping chairs, stock the food). I can be all done by noon which gives me some fishing time. She comes up on Friday after work. Yeah, we are spending more on gas doing it this way, but what the heck - you only live once.

I camp alone all the time. It's a way of retaining what little sanity I have left. I have everything to myself so I can even make funny armpit noises if I want to. (The reader is invited to refer back to the phrase "what little sanity I have left.")

Both DW and I've gone out on separate with the other spouse joining them at a later date. If DW is going out first, I always go out with her and help get everything setup and visa versa.

We both love the time alone with no one else to worry about. DW has spent a couple of days by herself and I've spent almost a whole week camping by myself. It's awesome!

The family and I are headed out for a quick trip to Cherry Creek State Park this weekend, and as luck has it, I got to take some vacation time this week (Before the DNC arrives and we get REALLY busy at work!).
I decided to reserve an extra day and head out early, just me and my faithfull lab, Hershey. Although the DW said she had no issues about me starting early, I think she does.
I have to admit, I am looking forward to some quiet time just doing... nothing!
It may just be us, but it seems like our vacations are packed with activities. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy seeing and doing new things. But, there are times I crave relaxing with no running around.
Am I being selfish? I hope not!

Being a sole proprietor (and I mean 'sole') with a disabled wife due to blindness, I am called upon during the day by clients and during the night by wife. The occassional weekend by myself in the MH at 'any' campground is always a treat. I really miss it all winter long.

It would not bother me in the least to camp alone since I allways travel with the law firm of strum ruger & assoc. winchester for company. Being comfortable with my DW being out alone is to me a whole other matter since IMO she is precious & desireable but I'm pretty homliy.

I camp alone a lot.

DW doesn't get into winter tent camping for some strange reason

I am taking the TT for a week with the guys at the American Kitefliers' Association Convention in late Sept. DW staying home.

I will occasionally "go for a walk in the woods" backpacking or camping on an island by myself for a weekend.

DW and I have a lot of trust in our relationship. I call her every day if I have cell phone reception and always come back happier then when I left.

DW goes away on her own occasionally, too.
