I don't remember seeing a pantry anywhere.

We also just toured the factory and our tour guide said they are presently only building Seneca's when orderd also.

They are down to only working three days a week on the motorhome production line....and only building 5 units a day, less than half their normal rate.
The line was filled with Melbournes with one lone Seneca.

I don't know what they'll do if and when they get a good supply of Greyhawks and Melbournes built up.

There is no handrail to hang on to at any point and there are about 6 or 7 steps to navigate.

As we sat in the unit watching people enter and exit almost everyone mentioned the lack of a handrail.
The Embark at the Hershey show had a hand rail on the left side as you enter. It is a bolt to the floor type. It may not have been installed yet when you were in.

Jayco will sell the Embark around $225,000., and in a 39 foot long RV, they didn't find a place to have a washer/dryer in the RV. Now you will buy a RV that price with no w/d? This is ridiculous.

Agreed. Plus for a 39' rig:

a.) there is essentially NO counter space for meal preparation.
b.) people preparing meals will repeatedly block the view of the TV when going to the fridge.
c.) it doesn't look like many of the bedroom storage areas can be accessed if the slides are in.
d.) Why is it front entry? There are two doors up front already, make it side entry, much easier to get food outdoors and cuts wear and tear on the carpet.
e.) There should be a sink in with the john, too.

These issues took me less than 1 minute to find.

C'mon, Jayco, you can do better than this. How about hiring an engineer or two who has actually USED an RV once or twice in their lives. Geeze.

Ok...lets set the record straight...the picture you guys are seeing is the VERY first Embark offline.
Here's a NEW picture of the NEW ADDITIONAL TV location above Driver's Compartment (one in kitchen made smaller)

Secondly, the reason this model is a front entry is because of the floorplan AND the location of the rear axle. This floorplan made it impossible (according to Jayco) to place door that far back.

If you have any other questions or want more pics please pm me!

Is there an option to replace the "comfort lounger" with a small workstation for a laptop or how about a recliner option?

chase107,

1.) The 26" TV that is hidden when the slide is in and will be blocked by folks going to refrigerator when the slide is out is still there, correct? That wasn't changed.
2.) Baloney!!! They EASILY could've exchanged the position of the steps and the comfort lounger. There's no way the rear axle is THAT far forward.

You don't have to get defensive, but for the price range of that rig, someone should've thought a bit more about functionality. But that's just my opinion...and I'm feeling a bit "grumpy" today!

After touring one of these recently I was rather dumbfounded that a manufacturer who has been making motorhomes for decades could actually come up with a design like this.....especially with a sticker price of over $227,000.

I may be wrong but I don't see these things selling very well, good economy or bad. Nice chassis and some nice amenities but I saw too many shortcomings in the layout.

With about enough counter space to make a peanut butter sandwich, not a great amount of close-by cabinet storage in the kitchen, strange TV location, and limited access to bedroom storage with the slides in, I find it hard to believe people will be rushing to buy one.

Just my humble opinion.

Rick,
I'm sorry I sounded defensive, that wasnt my intention...

1-in the original design and the picture posted on page 3 of this thread you will notice that the TV there is a 32" and that it is impossible to walk to the bathroom without turning sideways. That's what i referred to as being changed.

2-If you look in this pic
You'll notice that because of storage problems, fuel/water tank placement (for center of gravity), rear axle placement, and slideout length that it would be hard to move the door back that far.

Again...I apologize for the rude-ness.

golfknut-
Jayco has told us dealers that the reason they chose this for the first floorplan was because this design (SENECA 35GS) has been Jayco's #1 since 2005 when it came out.

The next floorplan is expected to be a mid-entry triple/quad slide front living room with more kitchen.

Now for all to read...Jayco may not be using their head totally here BUT they are somewhere...they are one of the only 3 companys making money and still selling trailers. They are doing something right.

Yes, Jayco Owners can be happy that Jayco has contninued to do well financially. From two different sources Jayco had its best month this past February when other manufacturers are packing and going home.

The big dollar question is how will Jayco do in the high end Class A and and fifth wheel market under the Integra name?
