Jayco will sell the Embark around $225,000., and in a 39 foot long RV, they didn't find a place to have a washer/dryer in the RV. Now you will buy a RV that price with no w/d? This is ridiculous.

Agreed. Plus for a 39' rig:

a.) there is essentially NO counter space for meal preparation.
b.) people preparing meals will repeatedly block the view of the TV when going to the fridge.
c.) it doesn't look like many of the bedroom storage areas can be accessed if the slides are in.
d.) Why is it front entry? There are two doors up front already, make it side entry, much easier to get food outdoors and cuts wear and tear on the carpet.
e.) There should be a sink in with the john, too.

These issues took me less than 1 minute to find.

C'mon, Jayco, you can do better than this. How about hiring an engineer or two who has actually USED an RV once or twice in their lives. Geeze.

I spoke with Jayco by email earlier this year and one of their dealers recently. They will have additional floorplans that will be available later for the Embark. When later will be is the question.

I stayed with the Seneca because of the amenities vs the price point.

Very impressive coach. But I do have two criticisms of the layout: carpet surrounds the entrance and the stairwell looks like an accident waiting to happen. Otherwise, it looks like a party on wheels.

yes, the stairway area is rather strange. There is no handrail to hang on to at any point and there are about 6 or 7 steps to navigate.

As we sat in the unit watching people enter and exit almost everyone mentioned the lack of a handrail.

They are only building the embark when ordered. I just got back from the factory and toured one but the interior leaves alot to be desired. Cabinets above cab are useless as they are on a real slant.
Where they put the TV in center of the coach does not allow for effortless viewing. I don't know who designs these things but leaves alot to be desired. I did like the freezer and they took my advice last year and the storage doors open to the side instead of to the top. You will be better if you bought from the dealer in Middlebury, Indiana just a few blocks from the factory. Dane

Build to order makes a LOT of sense if they don't want to lose their shirts having to fire-sale a big inventory (and they'd likely have to give dealers a free or virtually free floorplan deal to take them unsold).

Now, if they'd add some quality and better design. I think it should be mandatory for the designers to live in an RV for 3 months before finalizing the model for production.

I don't see a pantry on the floor plan. Is there a place to store groceries?
