We cross just about weekly since we keep our trailer in the US most of the time now. One thing I've learned is that we can't seem to keep up with regulation changes and intrepretations so now we never cross any food products whatsoever; makes life a lot easier.

Came back from the states Aug 11th. The Canadian border agent never even asked what kind of food or alcohol we were carrying. I think it depends on who you get at the border and maybe which border crossing you take.

Were you travelling with/in your RV (with a fridge)? It may make a difference as to the questions you may get....

We shop weekly in the US and the only items you can't bring back into Canada is potatoes and blueberries according to the Candian food inspection agency online importation reference system of the many products I have searched on. Canadian Food Inspection Online Import Reference System Interestingly sweet potatoes are acceptable while normal potatoes are restricted due to potatoe bugs. Now you do have to declare on the website source location and final destination so their certainly could be regional variances to the restrictions.
