I just sold my Quadcab short box and bought a Megacab DRW. I had a B&W flip hitch with the companion 5th wheel hitch and thought it was great. Easy to hook up and rock solid. I was able to get my camper into some tight places and never hit the cab but was also very careful. I am sure that I could have hit the cab if I turned as tight as the truck would go.

How much differance will the longer wheel base make?
I still have the companion so should I stay with it or go with a superglide? Hate to spend the extra money. Thanks much.

Your longer wheeel base will make towing more stable but I am pretty sure that your actual bed length is identical between a quad cab and a mega cab. If your hitch worked before with a certain trailer then likely nothing will change in the new truck.

Bed length is the same so I will be able to trun the same truck/campr angle as before. I am just wondering about the longer wheel base?

I have a friend with the B&W, which he loved, but when he bought the megacab he had to go with the super glide. I guess do some measuring and see what works with your trailer.
We took out a rear window last summer so now we use the super glide, and our bed is longer then the magacab

Not sure if I understand the question...but here goes

With the longer wheel base your turns are going to be wider. I use to have a quad cab, and in comparison to my mega cab it acted like a sports car. That being said, I would never give my MC up...I love it!

I have a superglide and I could not be happier. Out of the big three, Dodge's rear axle is close to the cab than the others which makes it more likely that you could pop our your rear window...not worth the risk in my opinion. Hope that helps,

I sold my Quadcab 1500 and replaced with a Megacab 2500 - same box, but the turning radius is way different because of the longer wheelbase. If your hitch worked in your QC, it will work in your MC the same. But, you will be adjusting your backing skills somewhat. When backing the QC, I don't recall ever cranking it to max to back up a trailer - I don't with the MC either.

Do some measuring. If the trailer will hit, get the Superglide, it's well worth the cost. My last setup would never make it without the slider hitch. If your trailers under 102" wide and the pin is out front of the cap by 6" +/- you more than likely will make it.
You'll love the rooom of the MC.

As a few have said, the SuperGlide is nice, just not sure it's worth the $2000+ for it. If your B & W worked with the quad cab as above it should work fine with the Mega cab. As before just watch your clearances and all should be well. I have been towing with a quad cab Dodge for 4 years and a non slider hitch, RBW Lil' Rocker, and have only once hit the cab and it was my stupidity that caused it (Don't back up when you are distressed) and learned what not to do. Haven't done it since although we have passed up some nice campsites that were difficult to get into for the sake of safety.

I went from the QC to the MC as well and like others have said the MC is wonderful. I have the DRW and the ride is great much more stable than the srw and seams safer. There is some difference driving and parking compared to the QC which is shorter but not to bad IMO. I use mine as my daily driver and love it.
