I had my pop-up for 17 years I bought new in 1990. The last five years it was used once or twice a year. I had already gotten what I considerd my monies worth so I just kept it as I figured I would not get much for it. The kids are gone and had grown up in the pop-up so using once or twice a year reliving the memories was ok. My wife and I decided to buy a small TT and take some of the longer trips now that we are empty nesters. We have taken several very nice trips and have a few more planned. I'm guessing in a few years I'll feel like I got my monies worth and only using it a couple of times a year will not bother me. I did buy used and was able to pay cash. I don't think I could watch it sit un-used and make payments. To my suprise the pop-up sold for 1/2 the price I paid new for it 2 weeks after I bought the trailer. That paid for the power jack, Alpine Head Unit w/ XM radio and other outlandish camping goodies

40 accounted for nights this year and I'm sure i'm missing a few..Some in the Hybrid and some in a tent (couldn't take the Hybrid to Alaska). How do you put a price on family memories? Camping Rocks!

We are at 28 nights so far, with 12 more planned by mid October. It certainly justifies the camper for us! I haven't thought about how many nights are "necessary", whenever we are able to camp, we camp. Sure the cost has a little bit to do with it, but I don't worry about it. If we couldn't afford to use it when we wanted, we'd sell it and find other ways to vacation!
