I've been thinking about the ever-popular subject of camper loading. I have a concept that would use the old fashioned curb whiskers as guides. I thought it would be easy to find these on the web, but either they don't make them anymore or I'm not calling them by their right name. Anybody know where to find them?

Try a JC Whitney catalog. They have anything that has to do with cars.

I put a couple pieces of red tape on the front of my TC that line up with the PU bed rails so when I back up I can use them for guides. I put small marks on the rear so I know when it's lined up straight. I can shift it with the jacks if I need to.

My method is similar to Stim. Tape in front lines up with bedrails. There is a piece that taped hanging down halfway under TC. Line the front and then adjust to line the back. Has been working for me.

Curb feelers. Haven't seen them in years. Might find them on 'lowrider' style custom cars with hydraulics and such. They look great on 60's Impalas with wire wheels and center knock-offs.

Thanks to you all. No wonder I couldn't find them...we used to call them "whiskers" in our neck of the woods, not "feelers."

Hey RichandLiz - FYI and for others that don't know.
When you stack cement block on their side like that they have very little strength. A cement block's strength comes only from compression. So when stacked on its side, you only have the strength of the web and the ends. Stacked the proper way, there is lot of strength.
While you have your jacks down I am sure it is no problem.....with out the jacks an uneven loading could crush those blocks that are on their sides.
Just my 2 cents for what it is worth. I am not an engineer, nor do I profess specific expertise. This is from the school of hard knocks....blocking lots of heavy objects....usually boats years ago now. I posted this public rather than a pvt message as we see this all the time, hopefully someone else will learn as well.
