The towing is the easy part, I think.
The set-up and take-down are what require the thinking. You'll be fine.
And if you muss up going backwards, just pull forward a bit and start over. Don't let 10 minutes of backing up ruin a day of good camping!

Jack_Jack wrote: Well.....I am now sorry that I always said "I'll drive it next time" I can do all of the set up, and take down, I just never did tow. Now, I am facing doing it all myself as I lost my precious DH a month ago.
I KNOW I can do it. I have towed horse trailers, stock trailers, boats etc. Just never pulled the 5th wheel.
We have taken our grand son camping for his birthday for the last 3 years. I am taking him next week end. My oldest son will be with me, for moral support. I will only be going about 40 miles to a state park. I am not sure about doing the backing, but I am going to try.
You never know what tomorrow will bring, so PLEASE do it now, don't wait like I did.
Wish me luck!!!!!!
I will pray for your success; go slowly.

On our last trip I was so tired I told the DW that we needed to pull over so I could take a nap. Either that or you drive, I told her. We had another 1,200 miles to go and we were coming down from Canada over the plains. She took over and I relaxed after about 20 minutes, as she did just fine. I took a one hour nap and woke up. She had that Ford F-350 6.0 grin all over. I asked, Did you have fun? What a truck, she said, this is just an amazing system. LOL, it's hard to explain TowCommand unless you actually drive it. Hmmmm, maybe now is the time to trade up? HA! Needless to say, she has a lot more confidence in her ability and I get a lot more slack when driving. Win-Win all around.

I started pulling ours last year. My biggest worry was damaging our trailer hubby said that what insurance is for. He was right.
I pulled it from Green River Wyoming to West Yellowstone Montana that first time including pulling in for fuel, lunch stops, potty breaks, ect. even had to back it out of a parking lot. Only had one problem came around the corner at 60 to a herd of sheep in the middle of the road and was able to get it shut down. I haven't hooked up or unhooked yet but thats up and coming on my list.
Oh and forgot to add that I love the 1 ton dually so much that after that trip sold my car and I drive the truck
