We are thinking on trading the Cherokee on a New Montane 3465 triple slide.
Anyone out there with some personal experance with this model or Montana in general, it seems like a very well made trailer and the extra space should be nice as well, going from a 31 ft. to a 38 ft!
All comments .......... pro or con appreciated

Montana has a reputation as being the highest volume medium priced fiver builder. Does that equate to quality? Well, we did not buy one. Lots of folks do though, so you will be in the company of a large group of people with it.

There is a Montana Owners Forum - you might want to search for that

We bought our signature Montana in Oct 2007 and couldn't be happier. Only 3 minor issues and they were taken care of promptly and to our satisfaction. Feel free to PM me if specific questions.

We just made this trade the beginning of this year. We went from a Cherokee 28A+ TT to a 31 ft Montana FW w/3 slides. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! Quality is far superior--but you get what you pay for. The Cherokee was the right thing for us at the right time....but now that we have the Montana, I'd never go back.

see www.montanaowners.com for comments from folks who own them. We have the 06 3400 and use it hard. They are not the best but far from the worst.IMO they are a very good bang for the buck but do not expect perfection from a Montana or any other brand.

I am on my second Montana first was a 2005 2980 RL. My new one is the 3400RL. In the price range its as good as any. I looked at them all Cedar Creek, Jayco Designer, Bighorn etc etc. If the floor plan suits you there are not many reasons not to buy a Montana. I sold my used 2005 2980RL in one day after advertising it. Used Montana fifth wheels in my part of the country seem to sell quite fast.
Everybody has there reasons for what they buy right down to what brand uses plywood instead of pressed board, like that makes a lot of difference, but some think so. Some get pretty deep into buying a 5ver as far as construction some don't. I chose a Montana on a few things resale,#1 best seller the past 7 years, had the floor plan that worked for us.They all have basically the same things Dometic Fridge, Shurflo water pump etc. Pick your brand and pay your money.

We purchased a 3465sa in March of this year. It is a 2009 model (10th anniversary). We've used it a number of times during the summer, but our primary reason for the purchase is that we spend the winters in Florida.
Like up2nogood, we also looked at Cedar Creek, Silverback, Jayco Designer, Bighorn. Sunnybrook was also a very nice unit. In the end, we felt that the Montana was the best bang for the buck.
We are quite pleased with the overall quality and layout. We really like the separate bathroom, and the super large basement area. There are a lot of extras in the Montana that we didn't see in others.
Be sure you have at least a 3/4 ton diesel to pull this 5er.
I don't think that you'll be disappointed in the Montana-really nice unit.
Good luck. Send me a PM if you want more information, I'll be glad to help.

Thanks for all the input, our tv is a 2500 dodge with a cummins 325hp 610 fp torque I believe, so it should be adaquate for the job we really like the lay-out of the 3465sa and as you stated there is tons of storage I guess it is time to bite the bullet and go see the dealer and try for his best price!
thanks all who answered.
