I am so sorry for you and your dear Maggie. She was one loved doggie and she knew it. Thank you for being there for her and taking care of her in the end.

Bless you for taking in this little rescue.

Hugs from Nova Scotia. Thank you for rescuing an animal and giving her the best home a pet could have. You did everything you could for her and she knows it. Watch for her in the near future as they are always with us and you will see signs. Take care

So sorry for your loss. You sure did everything you could for her, and I'm sure she knew how loved she was. Take care,

That is a good thought, will try and remember that. I agree that every dog takes a piece of your heart, just never thought about the rest of the quote, such a nice thought, maybe that is why when we age we mellow out some, or at least some of us do.

I'm so sorry for you loss. We lost several Pom puppies recently in a new litter. Some sort of genetic heart defect apparently in the line that we knew nothing about. It really hurts, time helps.

Lost my 7yr male chihuahua Harley some months ago... he was my buddy. Watched him for hours pass-away. He had a seizure that he couldn't come out of. It really hurt. He looked into my eyes like he was asking for help, but there was nothing I could do.

We were real close. Waited for me to come home from work each day... a very true friend to me. It still really hurts.

My wife is a groomer, and on & off small dog breeder. It helps to surround myself with other little darlings.

Take care of yourself. I always figure that someday we will be together again.

You folks are a fine group of people. I started looking for another rescue dog to adopt and found one whose picture I fell in love with on Petfinder. I chatted with the Foster Mom online last week and decided to adopt her (not the Mom, the dog) lol. She was in western South Carolina. The next problem was how to get her here. I asked for help in Yahoo groups for dog transport groups Friday night and found a transporter who was making a trip up 85/95 this morning. Now, I have a new rescue and maybe a new problem. She is soooooo shy. It seems that she was meant to be a breeder dog but couldn't get pregnant so she was shifted from breeder to shelter to rescue. The Foster Mom says she spends most of her time in a crate. They say she is about 3 years old. I have her in a crate with the door open in the utility room with my other 2 dogs. She is eating. She is very quiet. I haven't heard her bark even at my cats. What's your opinion on how I should deal with her shyness? She must feel that nobody wants her and she doesn't belong anyplace.
