I have lost the place on my task bar where I can type in web addresses.Any idea on how to get it back? I am pretty sure it isn't called a "thingy" but don't know what else to call it. Thanks.

Don't know your OS but in Vista, click view, toolbars, and check navigation toolbar.

OK, you didn't tell us which browser you are using. Regardless, right-click on the toolbar and make sure Address Bar has a check in front.

Oops, forgot that some people don't have the toobars locked.

When your right-click on the toolbar, does "Lock the Toolbars" have a check? If not, place the mouse cursor on the border between the toolbars and the window. The cursor will become a double-headed vertical arrow. Drag down to display the Address bar. Right-click again on the toobars and select Lock the Toolbars.

Yes, it installed itself today. I have no option for "addresses" in the toolbar.

What browser are you using? When you right-click in the toolbar that contains the menus, what do you see?

I don't use IE7. Look under View Menu - Toolbars.

I also found this on the Internet.

http://www.vista-xp.co.uk/forums/windows........p/5823-help-lost-address-bar-solved.html

  1. Click Start

  2. From the Start menu click Run

  3. In the Run dialogue box type: regsvr32 /i browseui.dll and press OK

  4. You should get an info pop-up informing you that DllRegisterServer and DllInstall in browseui.dll succeeded

  5. Reboot your PC

    regsvr32 /i browseui.dll --**note the space after regsvr32**

    As I said above, I don't run IE7 so I can't test the above.
