I've used AVG-Free for years. Yesterday all attempts to 'update' failed! Still happening this morning. It starts to download but gradually slows to a crawl and fails. I'm getting 2.2 meg out of the 3.3 meg update before it fails. Any of you having any trouble? Is there some kind of link to contact them on? Thanks.

It must be, it is happening to me also. But is seems okay right now. I just updated okay.

That sometimes happens to me. It's usually short lived and I blame it on many people trying to download at once. BTW, I have used it for years, too, and am a computer tech. It is the best anti-virus out there. We've done comparisons with the major players in the game, and AVG does as well or better than those that people pay for. In fact, it consistently outperformed a very well known giant in the field, picking up things it missed.

Been failing for me the last 3 days. Just failed again (9:48am Friday). Two separate computers so it has to be their server.
Maybe the "free" days are over
OK - Edit. Updated successfully at 12:23 Eastern time. Took three tries though!

I have had the same problem for 3 days, although after a few minutes today, AVG downloaded the daily update. I'm hope AVG has resolved the problem. Tomorrow will tell.

Still will not update here. I have tried 4 times this morning. Fails every time.

Apparently, there are some nasty, new viruses that just appeared. The AVG release of the 28th not only contained updates to the virus database, but also new program releases. As a result, their servers were hammered throughout the day, and appeared to shut down at least once due to the volume. I could not update my systems until 9:00 pm Pacific time. I noticed that this morning's updates ran without a problem at 7:00 Pacific time.

I too was having issues updating but I just ran the program before this writing and it actually worked today!

As posted above.....there are some nasty new viruses to deal with. I had my laptop infected last week and it took me the better part of a week to get it figured out! I don't know where it came in either! It is frustrating to say the leat! All of my postings lately have been from my desktop pc just in case btw!
