I have been having the issue too. You might also check and temporarily disable Zone Alarm if you are running it, then try again.

I love this forum......

Here was me thinking I was alone with this AVG problem. Glad to know it is not my end.

My laptop did update successfully late yesterday PM and my desktop finally made it this morning after several sucessive attempts.

Thanks for the information.

Just wondering. Those that had a problem are tou running the Free AVG or the paid?

Do not think it would make a difference. But thought I would ask.

I use the paid AVG.

Just done mine (1220 PM CDT) took about 60 seconds.

Thanks for all of the replies. Looks as if the server is 'fixed'. I had no problem updating late this morning. This is when this forum comes in really handy. I wouldn't be without it!

I've tried 3-4 time, and I ain't tryin no more. I think its all political to get us to pay. Besides that, the old version is still working fine, once I got used to all the threats of shutdown etc etc.
