Ok guys would like to hear your input on this. Have seen guys on here towing heavy with srw trucks , not sure if I want to be one of them. Think this is the unit we are going to go with , I have an 07 F 350 crew cab diesel with the 11500 gvw. But right now Ford has 0 percent for 72 months and if I'm going to take a hit on the trade in it should be now rather than later. I can take the hit on the trade and and go into a new 450 for the same payment I'm at now. The trailer will be bought after our pusher sells. We try to go away 6-7 times a year. The dealers all say we will be fine but we all know they are just trying to sell something.I dont mind being over weight as long as I feel safe with the load. I tow alot but have never pulled a fiver. How much weight will come off the tounge when you put 1-2 k in the rear garage? Also anyone who has a Cyclone how do you like it and what are you pulling it with ?

It is a true 11 500 truck. But dont want to wait then get the hitch in and the hauler loaded up and not be happy. But also not happy about taking the hit on the trade. How much does your hitch weight decrease when you increase the weight in the garage ?

My TV GVW is only 9200lbs and I tow a 2588lb empty hitch weight 40'er and it does very good!. Air bags aren't really needed for me, but a precaution. I'm sure you could handle the extra pin weight of the Cyclone, and should tow nicely if your GCVW isnt to far over your trucks max.

I pulled our 15,000lbs + TH for a year with a SRW truck. I never really felt good about it, but did it. I was right at max on all the trucks specs. I had every thing you could get to make the truck a better hauler, (airbags, aftermarket rear diff. and trans pan covers, exhaust brake, full gauge package, and tuner chip).
I now have a dually and I can tell you there's no comparison. The dually is way more stable. It's pulling the trailer, not the trailer driving the truck.
If you have the resources to get a new truck, get the DRW larger truck. You'll suffer a little on fuel mileage but on the other hand you'll have the proper truck to pull a trailer that size.

Can you pull that trailer and stop it with the 350? Yes. Can you do it safely? Yes. Would the dually be more stable? Yes. Most trailers like the 3950 are being pulled and stopped with SRW trucks. Many people are doing it and many of them feel totally safe and adequate. Others have switched becuase they didn't feel safe. You just have to decide if for you the margins are acceptable.
And, the Cyclone 3950 is one of the final two or three trailers I'm trying to decide between. I really like it. It seems like a great trailer. It's built on 12" I-beam frame, where many are on 9". All the drawer and cabinet hardware is residential ball-bearing quality. And many other things I'm sure you already know. Good luck with your choices.

Why do so many insist on buying SRW trucks to haul large trailers/fivers? Its atool not a toy, you want a big trailer/fiver buy the appropriate truck to pull it.
For all you "its hard to park and can't go to the carwash" people, my wife has done it for 4 yrs without any mishaps, She used to drive a Isuzu sub compact. BTW She gets through most fast food joints just fine.
