Don't forget your state income tax(es). As a part-year resident, they are so much fun to do. They always go something like so:

Date you became a resident__.

Multiply the number of days as a resident by 15.4__.

Is that number greater than 150?__

If yes, divide by .035__

If no, go to line 10.

Federal taxable income___

Subtract $1200___

Is the amount greater than $99,000?__

If yes, multiply the amount on line 2 by 18.___

If no, divide the amount by 25 and enter on line 8.

Is the amount on line 8 greater than the amount on line 3?___

If yes, this might be your state taxable income.__

If no, take the amount from line 5 and subtract $1555.___

So forth and so on......you know what I mean. To me, this part has always been the worst hassle because a mistake can really cost a bundle. I have always wondered what sort of mind can come up with that sort of stuff?!

Well, hope you get everything sorted out and enjoy your new home.
