I'm thinking of going to Myrtle Beach SC from NJ the end of Oct. with my motor home and Honda Helix 250cc. It seems like no one likes motorcycles down there. The rules on there web sites reads no driving to and from your site, except Apache Campground didn't say anything. I would like some input if anybody had this experience before since I'm a new RVer and is Apache Campground ok for two 60 year olds.
Thanks Bob

We were in one of those Myrtle Beach campgrounds during a motorcycle week. Motorcycles were in a guarded lot in front of the office, none allowed in the campground. If you brought one in with a trailer you had to walk it to the front gate.
One day my wife said; "I hear a Harley going by!!!"
Looked out and it was a 1936 Buick with a Harley engine in it! Neat!

In my stays at Apache, the motorcycles were parked in a holding area inside the front gate. No riding in the CG.

Stay in the KOA downtown, it's in the woods and a couple of blocks out the back gate to the beach...cheaper too, but then it's awful quiet there by comparision. You might even be able to trust your awning being out. As an added feature, you won't be taking your life in hand everytime you venture out anywhere...what with the kids, golf carts, bikes and cars, it's a wonder anyone survives. I mean ...OCEAN LAKES (best one)... alone is almost a town within itself and is to the south of Myrtle Beach in Surfside where a lot of beach campgrounds are...there are others to the north, whereas the KOA is downtown. We did the beach routine a lot in our younger years, then found out it wasn't so inviting, especially after the kids were grown. If you do choose one of these, then get all the reservation that you can, otherwise, you might find yourself having to move every day or so to another site. Pay the extra for the limited number of concrete pads,...it's worth it to keep the sand out. Also, the golf carts are the best way to get around this huge area, and they rent for more than a Enterprise delivered car. Why, supply and demand...as every kid in the park has to have a golf cart to cruise around in. You ought to see the pool parking lot and the pool itself on a hot summer day....talk about overcrowding.

One of our favorite CG's is Willow Tree, just West of North Myrtle Beach in Longs, SC. It's close enough to MB to do the tourist thing, but far enoguh away to be quiet with large sites and great amenities. They also allow motorcycles.

So,
Is it fair to say that there a parking problem with MC's
or
is it just MC's?

I think what we're saying is that with the traffic and congestion taking place in the beach camprounds, most aren't going to allow noisy motorcycles to mix in and cruise around day and night with the kids and adults alike in cars, golf carts, bicycles...and then we even have pedestrins to watch out for. It's not even easy to leave the place sometimes as it's a ways to the front gate and waiting in a long line of traffic takes awhile.
Now, in 2004, we were evacuated from Ocean Lakes with the approach of hurricane Charlie and what a nightmare that was. It was probably 2 hrs. to the front gate and then another 3 or 4 hours on kings highway to get where we wanted to go, about 15 miles away. We really learned to appreciate having a big tank full of gas and a bathroom. People were everywhere carrying gas cans, heading for some cover or hiding behind car doors for urinary relief.
Keep in mind that most everything that has been mentioned here pertains to the height of summer and the OP has plans for the end of OCT. which is a whole different ball game and begins after schools reopen.
