I called there last week of June to make reservations "on the river" in the shade for Labor Day. Was told. No Problems. We got you. Even called last week to confirm. Yeah. Lookin for you. Pulled up the mountain, and pulled to the office. They had given my site away!. But take heart. We got another one far away from the river, and out in the sun, with no shade at all. You'l love it. I alwasys thought. That is why you make reservations. So you could have a good site. Could I be wrong?

Told them to keep it. Didn't raise my voice, but Told her. We won't be back. She smarted off, and hollered. Some one will take your place. I told her I was going to post to every web site I visited how they are. So I am.

Folks that called last week got on the river. But they gave our's away. So no need to make reservations there. They don't honor them, and think they can do you just anyway. So don't go. Don't bother wiith them.

Happy Ending. We went up on the BRP, and got a great site in Linville Falls NP CG. Huge site, quiet, near the river, Cool days, almost cold nights. It was great. Less money as well.

You might want to go here and write your review. Campground Reviews

I've got their site up. I'm going to leave a message or email them. Maybe if they know that people pay attention to recommendations, they'll think twice. Sorry they ruined your weekend.

Thanks for the heads up. I went to their website. On the reservations page, you can leave a comment at the bottom....I didn't make a reservation, just said "why bother, you don't abide by them anyway" and hit send.....thought it would get bounced back but it didn't.

Thanks for the info. We will remember not to try them out! Glad to hear Linville Falls was great. They don't have electric hookups there, do they?

No. and it has been awhile since we dry camped. But we still have all the stuff we need to do it. The battery was a little low. But then. This is the first time we ever had a battery when we dry camped. It was great. Didn't realize how much we missed camping there.

Was this prepaid or just a phone call? Any reservation contract?

Well, I for one have sent them a email letting them know that this is a poor business practice and that Terry's complaint is making the rounds on the RV forums.
