We are going to Charlotte Race in Oct., then onto Mrytle Beach. Looking for camp ground on the beach. Any recommendations?

Myrtle Beach Travel Park is located on the "good" (north) side of town. Easy off of SR 22. Close to "Restaurant Row" and Calabash. Dixie Stampede, and several theaters. I could go on and on.....

I second the Myrtle Beach Travel Park, if you get lucky you can have a front row site right on the beach! What a beautiful time of year to be there.

We just left Ocean Lakes this morning after an 8 day stay. Best place we have stayed in Myrtle Beach so far. (Been to Pirate Land) If you have a large rig, ask for a concrete pad in the 2000 section. Right next to the beach!

We've visited every single campground in Myrtle Beach, but the only one we will stay at is Ocean Lakes!

As for the north side of town being the "good" side, I have to disagree. Beach front is much wider south of town, the water drops off more gradually and is therefore calmer. Less traffic congestion. And closer to the best restaurant in the area -- Gulf Stream Cafe!

Everyone has their favorite. Ours is Myrtle Beach Travel Park. We like the slightly smaller size, the location (close to things we like to do) and we think the beach is much better there than on the south end.

Just spent a week at Myrtle Beach Travel Park. After crusing the area multiple times, discovered traffic was MUCH less than in MB proper and south. Could be that time of year makes a difference. Beach was fantastic-found the drop off very gradual, water was calm for most of the week, but TS Fay closed the beaches for Thursday & Friday and Saturday was rough, Sunday was a smooth as silk. The major reason I would go back to MBTP is this...

After spending the morning on the beach, hubby and son decided to use campground showers instead of the one in the Endura so all 3 of us could shower at the same time. The bathhouse had just been cleaned but someone did not rinse the bleach off the benches properly. We brought it to the attention of the office as we were afraid someone would either sit in it and potentially get burned or a child might accidentally ingest it. Within MINUTES the cleaning manager was at our site, offering restitution for two ruined towels and a ruined T-shirt (we refused), explaining it was a brand new cleaning crew. They couldn't apologize enough and thanked us repeatedly for telling them about the problem. It's a first class operation.

Life is too short to spend it all in one place!

Our favorite used to be Ocean Lakes. Now we love Huntington Beach State Park HUGE difference in the price. Enjoy where ever you go.
