Wish I were instead of waiting for Gustav. He messed up my plans for a week long trip starting tomorrow. Just hope that is the worst of it.

We attempted to camp at Fort DeSoto this weekend - - rain, rain and more rain. We had to pack it up early during a break in the rain and head back home - all thanks to Gustav's outer bands!

Thanks I needed that. We have not been camping since late June when we took off to the Georgia Mountains. I will be posting all winter about our camping trips, but it is just too hot to camp here in Georgia in the Summer. The temps are finally coming down a few degrees and we hope to be out there in a couple of weeks. Retirement will be nice so that we can be reverse snowbirds and head north for the summer.

We were there seven years ago. As we crawled our way to the bottom of the Black Canyon, my husband slipped and slid the last twenty feet. He landed in a patch of poison ivy. I decided that I did not have to reach the bottom.
We have never camped over Labor Day weekend, we leave tomorrow for a month of camping.
Hope we can go back again.
