Hi All,
Last week we were camping in the Smokey Mts. when an out of control motorist burst through a nearby fence and barreled through our campsite. The SUV hit the back of our Outback 21RS and then went under the slideout. The RV was pushed/spun completely through the neighboring site. Besides obvious damage, we are concerned that the frame may have been bent. The adjuster was a nice fellow, but admitted that he doesn't know enough about RVs to assess any damage that might not be obvious. After the crash, we could not lock the door properly, and there is a bent piece of metal protruding through a gash in the back quarter of the body of the unit, opposite of where it was hit. They would like to tow it to a local place to have it inspected. Is anyone out there familiar enough with the area to give us some recommendations or warnings about local RV repair businesses? We sure would appreciate it. The Ins. Co. will ultimately make the call on where to send it, but they seemed willing to listen to any opinions we had.

We needed to return home on Saturday, but had to leave the camper in Knoxville. We are grateful beyond words that we were able to return together, somewhat battered but alive and intact as a family. The reputation for Southern Hospitality is well earned. The owners of the campground offered up an empty cabin so that we would have a place to stay until we could travel back, as well as offered help packing up the contents of the camper. The folks at the Lazy Daze in Townsend are some of the most caring people I've ever met. Again, we are grateful.

Wow, what was up with the driver? In a campground, must have been going pretty fast. Glad to hear everyone is o.k. Very sorry to hear about the camper.

They did a warranty repair on my trailer and they were prompt, did an excellent repair and the paint matched.

Look up Tenn RV in Knoxville. They used to be the FOretravel factory store and now are part of camping world but the same people still work in service. Call Alan at Tenn RV and tell him your problem and they can fix you up. They have a paint booth to do it and have done major collision repair on Motorhomes for us and others we know. Had a guy turn into me a few years ago and they fixed it on time and very well.

Thank you, everyone for your suggestions! I am most grateful. Thank you, too, for the good wishes.

I would suggest NOT to take it to Tennessee RV. They spot painted the back cap of our mh, did not match the paint on the bottom and did not install the new ladder that was ordered. Then had the audacity to want full payment from the insurance company.. Absolutely a SORRY JOB!
